The Masonic Medical Research Laboratory, an internationally recognized biomedical research institute founded in 1958, is a center for genetic screening of inherited cardiac arrhythmia diseases, especially those responsible for sudden cardiac death, including sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and is actively involved in the development of safe and effective drugs for atrial fibrillation. A focal point of the lobby is the Vine of Life, a gleaming metal Donor Recognition Sculpture which climbs 30 feet high and 20 feet across, and includes 850-plus leaves that recognizes major benefactors. Meyda custom crafted Antique Copper finished Steel Branches with Solid Brass Leaves that are supplied blank and the facility engraves them as needed.
